Electrifying the Fleet as a Goal According to the
guideline, at least 30% of Indian trucks must be emission-free by 2030. This
objective is challenging but essential considering the effect vehicles have on
GHG levels and air quality. Incentives for early adopters are part of the
government's staged strategy.
Rebates and Incentives The government is offering
tax breaks, exemptions from road and toll levies for ZETs, and subsidies on the
purchase of electric trucks
to entice businesses and individual truck owners to make the move. Plans to
support the development of charging infrastructure at depots and along
important national routes are part of the recommendation.
